Bill Thompson, Associate
Bill has been consulting in the field of process improvement and applied statistics since 1997. He has worked with over 35 clients in a variety of industries and specializes in Design of Experiments (DOE), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and data mining. Bill has helped clients improve their processes with projects focused on improving quality, efficiency, and revenue generation. Industries that he has worked with include, pulp & paper, chemical, discrete manufacturing, retail, and financial including Georgia-Pacific, Du-Pont, Olin Chemical, Continental Cement, Boise Cascade, Cabot Supermetals, W. W. Grainger, and Staples.
Prior to joining with Sinclair Associates, Bill was a Consultant and Account Director for QualPro Inc. At QualPro, he worked with clients to train and coach them in Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC). He also conducted public seminars on Statistical Process Control (SPC) topics.
A graduate of the University of Tennessee, Bill gained considerable experience in the manufacturing industry for ALCOA and Aqua-Chem as a systems analyst, production control supervisor, and materials manager. His experience with the application of statistical methods for analysis and process improvement at both organizations resulted in significant cost savings.
Bill has been a speaker at several National APICS conferences and at the IIE National conference.
