Standardized Work
Make standard procedure standard practice. Achieving
standard practices in the workplace does not start and
stop with developing standard procedures. For standard
procedures to become standard practice, a cycle of four
essential elements is required.
- Development of the process standards
- Development of workplace systems to communicate and
guide work in a manner consistent with prescribed standards
- Visual feedback to close the loop between action,
accountability and results
- A means for rapidly responding to ideas and suggestions
for the continual improvement of work procedures and
practices
